Cajun BBQ Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs large shrimp, shell-on and deveined

  • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter

  • ¼ cup olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon Merman’s Revenge® Cajun seasoning (adjust for heat preference)

  • ½ cup beer or seafood broth

  • 2 green onions, finely chopped (for garnish)

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  • French bread (for serving)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp:

    • Rinse the shrimp and pat them dry. Keep the shells on for extra flavor during cooking. Set aside.

  2. Make the Cajun BBQ Sauce:

    • In a large skillet or sauté pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the olive oil to prevent the butter from browning too quickly.

    • Stir in the Cajun seasoning and Cook for about 2 minutes to allow the spices to release their flavors.

  3. Add the Shrimp:

    • Add the shrimp to the skillet and stir to coat them in the sauce.

    • Pour in the beer or seafood broth, and bring the mixture to a simmer.

    • Cook the shrimp for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and fully cooked through. Be careful not to overcook them.

  4. Finish and Serve:

    • Once the shrimp are done, remove them from heat.

    • Garnish with chopped green onions and parsley.

    • Serve the shrimp immediately with the sauce, and plenty of crusty French bread on the side for soaking up the flavorful sauce.
